The Spiritual Power of Presence: Leading from a Place of Stillness
By:Sharee Murphy

Before Jesus performed miracles, He was present.
He noticed the woman at the well. He paused for the bleeding woman. He looked at Zacchaeus in the tree. His ministry flowed through awareness — divine mindfulness.

Presence Is a Spiritual Discipline

Presence isn’t passive; it’s a spiritual act of submission. When you pause, you acknowledge that your human effort isn’t the source — God is.
Leadership presence means leading prayerfully, discerning spiritually, and responding with grace.

Three Ways to Practice Spiritual Presence

Start Every Day in Stillness.
Before you plan, pause. Allow God to align your intentions with His.

See People, Not Positions.
The Spirit reveals the heart behind behavior. Stay compassionate even when correction is needed.

Respond, Don’t React.
Spiritual presence gives you emotional control — power under submission.

Scriptural Anchors

Exodus 33:14 — “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Mark 1:35 — “Jesus went to a solitary place to pray.”

Let's Reflect

Leadership presence is ministry in motion. It’s not about being perfect — it’s about being available.
When your leadership is anchored in God’s presence, people don’t just follow your direction — they encounter your peace.
